Cocoa Two Ways from People Magazine

I found these recipes in the People Extra, the Holiday 2011 issue.  On Page 39 there's an article about Carmelo & La La Anthony's first holiday together in New York.  In the end the couple share two recipes for "Cocoa 2 Ways" both hot and cold from page 41 of People Extra Holiday 2011.  I think I'll be trying both this holiday.

Frrrozen Hot Chocolate
Serves 2 (makes about 4 cups)
1/3 cup evaporated instant dry milk
1/3 cup sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 cup milk
3 cups ice
1/4 cup whipped cream
2 tsp. shaved chocolate curls

1.  Stir dry milk, sugar anf cocoa in a small bowl until completely mixed.
2. Add ingredients to blender in the following order: milk, then dry mix, then ice.
3.  Blend for 20 to 30 seconds until smooth and daquiri-like in texture.
4.  Pour into large glass and top with whipped cream and shaved chocolate

Serendipitous Hot Chocolate
Serves 1

1 cup hot milk
2 tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. unsweetened cocoa
1/4 cup whipped cream
1 tsp shaved chocolate curls
1/4 tsp. grated orange rind
a Dash of Cinnamon

1.  Combine milk, sugar, cocoa, vanilla and salt in blender leaving top slightly unsealed to prevent hot steam from forming.  Blend on high for 30 seconds.
2.  Pour into a tall mug and top with whipped cream, sprinkle with chocolate curls, orange rind and cinammon.
